Crafty Chic
Two posts one day! Woo!
I made these invitations for my sister's bridal shower on Saturday. After a full day of slicing, stamping, and nearly assaulting my dumb printer, I finished the 30 handcrafted invites. I got the pearlescent (not a word but it is now) and green stationary from Archiver's and the flower and pearl accents from Michael's. I used stamps for the margin and the back of the envelope. I got ink all over my carpet- which is currently covered up with books so I don't get yelled at. Heh.
Fashion Smashion
This week has been packed with planning my sister's tea-party themed bridal shower on Saturday. Yesterday I got to take a break to go shopping for a cute party dress :-)
It just so happened that I ended up falling in love and buying the first dress I saw- very unlike me. It's an unbelievably flattering a-line cocktail dress with a black and white graphic print. The straps and sash are a bright yellow.

Since the dress was a steal, my mother insisted on looking for shoes to go with. I recently decided that it was about time I started using being short to my advantage and wear all the cute heels my amazonian sister loves but feels too tall to wear. I found these amazing Kennith Cole black leather peep-toes with a punk-rock-badass feel to contrast with the sweetness of the dress. Not to mention they were the ONLY pair (I love being the shoe-sample size 6.)

I can't wait for the party! I'll be sure to take lots of pictures of the bridal bash.
Gabby's been chillin and dreamin in my room all morning. She loves the sun through my windows just as much as I do :-)

Cool New Lettering!

I was sitting at home the other night trying to design a new banner for this blog when I stumbled upon this awesome 3D lettering tutorial. After a few tweaks and about an hour of frustration in Adobe Illustrator, I came up with this pretty cool stack of stripey font. It is only the first step of the banner but I thought it was pretty cool, if I do say so myself. Hopefully I'll get this blog up and running this week- with midterms fast approaching I've been having a hard time fitting in everything I want to do!
